Sneakers are an investment that needs TLC -- whether they’re a new drop or your favorite everyday cop. Cleaning them to look almost as good as new maybe a toilsome. Here’s a rundown on how to keep your dirty pairs look brand-new easily and properly:
STEP 1: TACKLE THE DIRT
Pre-clean by brushing off the top dirt on uppers with a dry horsehair brush and sole brush for mid and undersoles. Then use premium sneaker brushes to get rid of the entire dirt. For the uppers, make use of the soft-bristled Clyde Horsehair Brush. For the midsole and the undersole, use the firm Clyde Sole Brush.
STEP 2: CHOOSE A NON-TOXIC SOLUTION
Shake Clyde Shoe Cleaner and Conditioner well before use. Clyde Shoe Cleaner and Conditioner is made from natural coconut oil with added jojoba oil as conditioner that releases dirt, dust, grime and stains easily. It has no harsh chemicals, no bleach and no artificial fragrance. Dilute the solution on a container of water.
STEP 3: TIDY UP THE LACES TOO
Remove the sneaker laces. Dip laces in a bowl of diluted Clyde solution. Try rubbing the laces to loosen the dirt. Then wipe with the soft, lightweight and absorbent Clyde Microfiber Towel. Air-dry the lace after.
STEP 4: MAKE USE OF THE APPROPRIATE BRUSHES
Dip Clyde Horsehair Brush into the bowl of Clyde solution and scrub the uppers. Then wipe with dry Clyde Microfiber Towel to remove excess foam and dirt. Next, douse Clyde Sole Brush in the solution and scrub the midsole going to the undersole. Wipe again with the microfiber towel. Repeat as needed.
STEP 5: AVOID THE SUN
When done with the cleaning, air-dry the sneakers indoor at room temperature only. Avoid direct sunlight.
FOR BEST RESULTS: Clean your sneakers with Clyde Shoe Cleaner and Conditioner as soon as they get dirty. Then lace up and get on with your day!
